Part of the Make Yourself at Home exhibit, our installation What Am I Walking On turns the floor into a conversation.
Three exceptional designers bring new perspective to what lies underfoot, blending art, material, and emotion into the foundation of every space we call home.

Memento Interior Design

Memento’s unique take on the Make Yourself at Home gallery showcase: A colorful lounge and game room designed for leisurely conversations, playful moments and inspired incorporation of curated art.

Mutuus Studio

I chose Berkeley Burnt Oak because it created the depth and warmth the space needed to anchor the other design elements we incorporated. Berkeley Burnt provides a cozy atmosphere with its color and a lived-in feel through the character it brings to the space.

The Residency Bureau

I chose the York Tawny Oak as my flooring for its darker tones which works so well with how I wanted this room to feel. It grounds the space in a layer of warm, comforting tones, and pairs well with the earthy hues used throughout the design. We used a similar stain on the wood walls to carry that feeling into a vertical space, as well.

Ivan Gonzalez

Corchos Hardwood Floors

Ivan Gonzalez, owner of Corchos Hardwood Floors Company, is known for his hands-on approach and exceptional craftsmanship. Unlike many firms that separate estimating and installation, Ivan personally oversees every stage of his projects. He enjoys working with Woodpecker floors because their high-quality materials make installation smooth and the final result consistently impressive for his clients.

Woodpecker Team

Woodpecker Flooring

Woodpecker is a third-generation family-owned company originally founded in the UK. Our flagship location in the US is located right here in Seattle.

Floors made to be Lived On

At Woodpecker, every floor tells a story — crafted with care, inspired by nature, and designed to last generations. Because we are a family company built on generations of craftsmanship and care, we treat every floor as if it were going into our own home — because we know it’s one of the most important design decisions you’ll ever make. We don’t just sell floors — we educate designers and installers so each floor performs beautifully for a lifetime to come. We’d love to welcome you into our showroom, explore what’s possible, and help you bring your next project to life.
